"Let your heart therefore  be perfect with the Lord, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day' (1 King 8:61).

We are all sinners by birth as a result of Adam and Eve sinning. So as sinners, can we possess a perfect heart? Jesus said, "Be ye perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matthew 4:48).
Being perfect does not mean having a sinless or flawless heart. It was said, David had a perfect heart towards God all the days of his life, yet he failed the Lord. It is interesting to say, that man looks at the outward appearance by what he sees, but God judges the heart and its unseen motives (1 Samuel 16:7).
When our heart is perfect  with the Lord, we allow the Holy Spirit to search the depths and crevices of our heart; to dig out and expose every sin that may be hidden there. The Holy Spirit will convict our heart and motivates and encourages us to walk in the statutes of God and to keep His commandments.  A perfect heart cries out to the Lord, as did David when he penned these words, "Search me, O God and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me..."
(Psalm 139:23-24). Having a perfect heart means we are constantly in total obedience to God, being complete in Him, and walking uprightly. We must possess a heart that is responsive to the warnings and commands of God. We must realise that we in our natural sinful state cannot be perfect, but it is the grace of God through the sufferings of Jesus Christ that makes us perfect. Peter gives a clear picture in 1 Peter 5:10, "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you." Let us commit our hearts to God. Be sincere in our love for him; be totally committed to him; constantly obeying him, and united in our worship, today. We have only today promise to us, let us worship God and give allow our hearts to be perfected in him.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
