'In your patience possess ye your souls' (Luke 21:19).
In the last days we will suffer afflictions, persecutions and be reproach of men. We will be betrayed even by our own families and friends, as they hand us over to our persecutors to save themselves. God is saying to us, that we should be patient as we bear these burdens and afflictions, by possessing peace and joy in our souls which no one cannot take away. Our hope and life is in Christ Jesus, and when we hold steadfast unto him, allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and work through us; we will let nothing disturb our peace or distress our soul. In isolation, it may seem daunting and a difficult task to be joyful and enjoy ourselves in such dire circumstances. However, when Christ is in us the Holy Spirit will empower us and give us the endurance and perseverance to enjoy our souls. The Word of God said, "...we shall be hated of all men for my name's sake; but he that endureth to the end shall be saved" (Matthew 10:22). We should make every day of our life valuable; make it count even amidst persecution or even death for Christ's sake. We all have to carry our own cross, but know that Christ is always with us. He promises that, He will be with us when we pass through the waters and the rivers, they will not overflow us; nor will the fire burn or kindle upon us when we pass through it. We have nothing to fear, except we forget how the Lord has led us in the past. Let us not give men the satisfaction that they have won, but like Stephen they will see the light of God encircling us when they seek to persecute us. Let us trust the Lord our Saviour, and that by our endurance we shall gain possession of our lives and be a living testimony to an unbelieving world. If God is for us, who can be against us? If God be with us, why should we fear what men will do to us?
Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹
Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...
