'Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world;' (Titus 2:12).
The grace of God brings salvation to all men, seeking a change in our conduct and attitude towards God and one another. It advocates a turning away from sin, and helps the believer in Christ to reject sinful desires and refrain from ungodly living. The grace of God teaches us to avoid behaviours that are sinful and will not enhance our lives; but it is to move us towards right behaviour and right thinking. Paul was instructing Titus to teach boldly and with authority the conduct and behaviour God expects from His people. To encourage right thinking and behaviour by them living soberly, upright and godly lives. We are also encouraged as Believers in Christ to do the same. We must allow ourselves to be taught by the great Teacher, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we search the Scriptures daily and in observing the things in nature. In order to partake of God's grace we must fulfill all the condition specified by God through the Gospel. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome these sinful desires and pleasures of worldly lust. We will be able to deny ungodliness which contradicts the will of God and His divine nature. We are encouraged to live so soberly - in all purity and holiness; righteously and godly - performing our duties faithfully to God, in this present world. As believers in Christ, of which the Gospel has shined in our lives, we should seek to live wisely and prudently. We ought to live righteously among men, giving to them their due benevolence, being fair, honest, upright and just in our dealings towards them. We must seek to live godly according to the Word of God and in agreement to His will as we give glory to our Maker. Let us choose to live in faith, abiding in the love of God, looking forward to that glorious appearing of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend 🌹🌹
Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...
