'This people draweth night unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me' (Matthew 15:8).
Jesus was speaking of the Jews and their hypocrisy. They would go about praying publicly unto God for all to see, in the streets, in the synagogues, in the temple and teaching the commandments of God yet not living them fully. They seek to draw nigh unto God with their mouth but not their heart. They believe God to be their creator and preserver; they boast about him; they have great knowledge of him; they brought their sacrifices of praise and Thanksgiving before him and acknowledged him as their true and living God. It was all in vain as they were honouring Him with their lips and not their hearts. The Lord said that they have no true love for him, nor did they fear him, or concerned for His presence amongst them. Why? Their heart was far from Him. The Jews were suppose to be the light to a world in darkness, yet they sought the applause of men rather than God. What about us? God has called us to be the light for a dying world, to point them to the Saviour of the world who died to save them. Have we wholeheartedly given our heart to God? Are we honouring God with our lips instead of travail of our hearts? We must seek to do the will of God from our heart because He is the searcher of the hearts of men. Let us not pretend to honour God with words and outward observances and appearances but to truly seek him and bring honour and glory to him. The Jews pretended to do so while their hearts and practices were opposed to him. We must seek to worship God in spirit and in truth, as true worship involves the heart. My brothers and sisters let everyone one of us render our hearts fully to God and surrender our will to him, seeking to obey the only true and living God. Pray that Christ will live fully in you and manifest His character and works in you.
Have a wonderful day🌹🌹
'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and
