'Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them'
(Deuteronomy 11:16).

Our soul's salvation is important as sinners. We are warned to take heed to ourselves, to always be on our guard; to be watchful, stay sober and to keep praying, guarding the avenues of our souls. We need to watch closely ourselves, that our hearts   be not deceived, and not turn aside, and serve other gods and worship them. God is a jealous God and Him only should we turn to and worship. He is our Creator and worthy of our praise and worship. Therefore, we are to take heed in what we are doing, the things we get involve in; what we are spending our time on and who we are spending our time with. Can they aid us in our spiritual growth and development? What is our relationship with God like? We must take heed in watching ourselves and not just what's happening in the world around us; to guard  and protect our spiritual development and our attitude towards God and others. We are to take heed of all the things that  we allow in our lives to take precedence over our relationship with God. We need to watch ourselves, of the things we find hard to resist, even when we know it's not good for us or impede our relationship with our God.
If we are deceived, it's not God's fault, because God through Christ, His Son, revealed to us the way to live and serve Him. Through the Scriptures we are to learn about and know God with the aid of the Holy Spirit to teach us truth, lest we be deceived. God has left no stone unturned, nothing hidden that we need to know. We need therefore, to take heed to ourselves, be on our guard always against deception and the wiles and follies of the devil. But let us watch and pray always and be constantly vigilant, looking onto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
