'Jesus answered and said unto them. Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God' (Matthew 22:29).

It is important that we all know the Scriptures for ourselves, lest we err and be led away by every false wind of doctrine that comes our way. Christ said, "Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are which testify of me" (John 5:39). When we diligently search the Scriptures for ourselves, we will not be led astray with the many doctrines in the world. The Word of God is the only truth we need to know that will lead us to Jesus Christ, the Saviour of world. In knowing His truth, we will recognise the power of God. Jesus here, was speaking to the Sadduceees who believe there was no resurrection. They put a scenario to Jesus which question the resurrection; but Jesus perceived their thoughts, criticised their knowledge of both the Scriptures and the power of God. He wasn't fooled by what they were trying to do, but turned the table on them, providing the validity of the resurrection (see verses 30-32). Jesus is speaking to all of us to study the Scriptures for ourselves, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, so we will not be deceived or err. With indepth study and the leading of the Holy Spirit, we will not fall into gross error and misunderstanding of God's Word, but will find truth and speak truth according to the Scriptures.  Let us daily search the Scriptures, so our feet may be firmly established upon the truth of God, that when error and false doctrines come our way, we will be able to stand upon the sure foundation of the Word of God. Let us not 'presupposed'the Word of God, which can be dangerous ground. But know the Word, by searching deeply for its hidden truth. The Scriptures are as treasures buried deeply in the ground, you'll have to dig deep in order to find its hidden truth. As you seek to find it, you will also understand the power of God.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
