'For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens;  God himself formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord' (Psalm 45:18).

It was by the Word of the Lord that the heavens and the earth were created. There wasn't then and isn't now, any other gods that has the power to create, but the living God. It is He himself who formed the earth, made it, and established it. The earth was void without form and out of such nothingness, God created a beautiful paradise for man and beast to inhabit. Our God is omnipotent and is indeed the Lord of everything. It was the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, working together in oneness; who formed, made and established the earth. They are worthy of our praise and thanksgiving. As our Creator, we have obligation to God. Our duty is to fear God and  keep his commandments . We must serve, obey God and give glory and honour to him. We must seek to look after each other and the environment God had created. We need to understand that God did not creative a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited. In verse 12, God is saying, "I have made the earth, and created man upon it; I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded." God is the creator and controller of the universe.  We see where He had used Cyrus, a heathen king to give the Jews their freedom and the chance to rebuild Jerusalem, without the having to do anything. God's Word has power and is sufficient for us,  but we must trust God. We must believe that salvation comes only from Christ, the One who has the ability and power to save. Trust God and lean on him in difficult times in the midst of such a chaotic world.

Have a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
