'Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place, and there He prayed' (Mark1:35).

Jesus is our example, and we should therefore follow in His footsteps. Jesus knew that each day would bring new trials, new temptations, and new problems with the leaders and people around; so very early in the morning, He went out in a solitary place, most times in the mountains, and prayed to His Father for strength, so he could be a blessing to the people he would minister to. He, communing with His Father was very  important for his sustainance and work He had to do. We too need to commune daily with God through our prayers and worship; to strengthen us throughout the day. Like Jesus, let us arise early in the morning in the quietness of daybreak, before the hustle and bustle of the day; alone with Jesus, pray earnestly that we can obtain energy, perseverance and steadfastness from Him. If we look at Jesus' life, the pattern of prayer and communion with God was of uttermost importance. Before His ministry, He was alone in the wilderness, where He was tempted by the devil. Throughout His ministry He spends time alone in prayer; and nearing the end of his life, in the Garden of Gethsemane, before His sacrifice on the cross, He spends time alone praying to God. We too, when call to ministry must take time alone to recharge, talk to God, immerse in His word, and pray for strength to do the work we have been given to do. When we spend time with Jesus, we think less of self and more of Him. Giving your life to God should be the best thing you could ever do. Your life should be one of constant prayer, because Satan is always seeking of ways to destroy you. He will find new and unexpected temptations to assail you, to place doubts about God in your mind. He will seek out every opportunity to shame and discourage you. It is only through the strength and grace you gain from God that will help you through difficulties and temptations. I implore you to watch, pray and work for the master, until He comes.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
