'O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirst for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water' (Psalm 63:1).

It is such a wonderful feeling when you know God and experience His great and amazing love; the feeling is indescribable. When you can exclaim with joy and gladness of heart, 'O God, You are my God.' He is indeed our God, who formed us with such love in the image of Himself, with His own hands; so beautifully and wonderfully, that man still marvels at the work of His hands! He is the One who can sustain our hungry and thirsty souls. Christ said, "I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst" (John 6:35). What a wonderful promise! Our soul needs spiritual food just as our body needs physical food to sustain us; and Jesus can provide both. Through our life journeys we had to go through some weary and parched places where only Christ alone can sustain our desperate needs. When we make Christ our life, submitting our will to Him; our souls will yearn and long for Him, through those weary, tiresome times, where there is no water. David knew God from an early age and recognised that He can trust and depend on Him. He did exactly that throughout his life's journey. At this time of his life when he was hunted by his enemies; exile from his people and homeland; with no friends, he cried out to God. "O God, You are My God. Early will I seek You. My soul thirst for You. My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land; where there is no water." Are you, like David going through a stormy path; through the dry and thirsty land in the wilderness, where there is no water? Why not call out to Christ today, the Rock of your salvation; your strong Tower; your Shepherd? If you search for Him with your whole heart, you will find Him. Let Him be your living water, that will satisfy your soul in a dry and thirsty land.

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and

'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you' (John 14:18). Jesus is awesome and full of compassion. He loved his disciples and wanted them to understand about His death and resurrection; that He would be going away for a while. He knew they would be confused and devastated, so he hastened to comfort them. He said, 'Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me...I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also' (John 14:1-3). He also promised another Comforter, that he can abide with them forever. What a merciful and loving Saviour! He went further to say he would not leave them comfortless; but will come to them. He was like a father to them, as He and the Father are one. Therefore, He promised not to leave them fatherless, or as an orphan. But will come to them. Speaking of His death and resurrection He said that in a little while the world would not see him no more

'Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still' (Psalm 4:4). God knows everything about us, because he is God, our Creator and there is nothing that can be hidden from him. He knows the heart and the intents of the heart; Our thoughts, emotions, desires and motives, whether they be good or evil. He knows the godly from the ungodly, and have set apart those who are godly for himself, and will hear when they call unto him (verse 3). We are all called to be in a right relationship with God. Those who accept this call should have daily communion with Him through the study of His Word, prayer and supplications, allowing the Holy Spirit access in their hearts, that they might not wilfully sin against Him. We need to search our hearts daily and be silent before God as we contemplate his grace and his mercy towards us, and He will reveal Himself to us. When our enemies seek to do us harm, or people speak lies about us, simply look to Jesus and trus
