'Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strengthen to your bones' ( Proverbs 3:7,8).

When our mind is content and our spirit cheerful it will strengthen our soul and bring health to our bodies. Our emotions and spiritual wellbeing can have a great impact on our physical health. As human beings its quiet natural for us to worry; have anxieties and stress,  if not kept in check will lead to depression. However, throughout the Bible we are admonish to trust the Lord and give all of those things over to God. These emotions can destroy your peace. God created us to be peaceable with each other. We must trust the Lord and turn away from evil vices - violence, corruption, hatred, that are prevalent in the world, and live peaceable as possible with all men. When we strive to bring peace and contentment to our emotional and spiritual wellbeing, it promotes healthy physical bodies. We see Solomon admonishing his son to trust and obey God. To fear the Lord and depart from evil. You see, king Solomon knew what it was to trust and obey God. He saw first hand that obedience to God comes with benefits such as, longevity; health; wealth; success; peace; security, having a good  relationship with others. God is saying to us, trust me wholeheartedly, obey my will and it will be well with your souls. He is saying to us 'do not be wise in your own eyes' thinking you know it all, or understand all things. As we trust Him, we will recognise Him as who He really is - The All knowing, All powerful, Ever present God. We are then admonished to 'shun evil' and by that we should live to do all that is right by God's standards and not man. When we follow these steps God promises us wellness in our body and nourishment to our souls.  What a promise! May as we fear God and depart from evil, we will be drawn closer to Him and to each other.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
