'O Lord God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant (2 Chronicles 6:42).

King Solomon blessed God and prayed for forgiveness for himself and his people Israel, as he dedicated the temple in Jerusalem. God had promised David that it was his son Solomon who should build the temple for Him. As Solomon prayed  earnestly and wholeheartedly to God, he ended his prayer with the utterance of these words, "O Lord God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant." He was pleading with God not to reject him; but to honour the promise He had made to David his servant, that he would be king and ruler of Israel. In consideration of that promise to his father, with humility he is asking God to hear and answer his prayer. Whatever God promised to do in your life, He will do because He does not lie - He cannot lie; He is God. God has a purpose for you and me. You may have messed up in a big way and don't know how to go to God. But He knows your heart and is still willing to work with you if you will call upon His name and ask him not to turn away His face from you;  He will hear you, when the heart is sincere. Do you at times feel rejected, as if God is not near you, or listening to you? You need to plead to God as you look to Christ who in Hosea 3:5 and Jeremiah 30:9, is called David the king; to remember His merits and accept you an account of them - the promise of Christ our everlasting covenant. Let this be our desire and hope as we offer up prayer, thanksgiving and supplication; knowing this is our salvation. Christ is the strength of our heart, and our portion forever. He is the way to life everlasting. Let us be encouraged as we look to Him.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
