'He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God' (John 8:47).

Jesus speaking to the Jews knew their hearts and that they didn't believe in His message. He referred to them as spiritual children of the devil, who choose not to hear from God, because He was from God. But from the father of all lies who abode not in the truth - Satan. When we love, fear and honour God, we delight in  listening to His word and to receive it with readiness of mind, submitting to His will. When we love God we will obey all of His commandments and live them daily in our lives. Like the Jews, whose attitude towards Jesus was one of arrogance and insults; If anyone disregard the commands of God, it proves Jesus stated, that you're not of God, and is therefore, rejecting Jesus. We must open our ears to hear God's word by faith, and our hearts to understand what He wants us to do. Because it is not just hearing the word that is important,  but also to put in practice what you have heard. The word of God has power to change lives, through the working of the Holy Spirit to transform us.
When we choose to reject the word of God, we are rejecting God and therefore, excluding ourselves from His righteousness and having eternal life. Jesus did all He can to enlighten the unbelieving Jews and to bring them to a knowledge of the truth and to save them. They refuse to listen to the Saviour, so God had no pleasure to open their eyes for them to see and their heart to understand. Let us have a heart of gratitude and a right attitude to hear and apply the word of God to our lives. Let us accept God's word with readiness of heart, submitting and aligning our will to God, as we look forward to the  second coming of Jesus.

Have a wonderful day and a bless weekend 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...
