'Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am the Lord your God' (Luke 20:7).

God was speaking to Moses regarding the practices of the Children of Israel. They were at this point, living like the heathen, worshipping their gods and sacrificing even their children to these false gods. Today, we might not be sacrificing our children to false god, but instead we want to do all that the world is doing, not what God is calling us to do. We comprise the standards of God to those of the world, and God is not please. He is saying to us, that those kind of living separates us from him and leads to a life of destruction. He is  is calling us to sanctify ourselves and be holy, for He is the Lord our God. We must therefore, ask Him to consecrate us, to anoint us, so we can live lives that are acceptable to Him. How can we accomplish this? We must change the way we think, change our attitudes and our lifestyles, changing everything that is not in accordance to the will of God. We must refrain from participating in ungodly practices, guard our hearts and those of our children by allowing God to take His words and bind them upon our hearts. We must not have any other gods but the God of heaven. God was not please with the Israelites worshipping heathen gods and being involved in their ungodly practices and will not be please with us doing the same. Anything we put above and before God is regarded as our idols. We must not allow ourselves and our children to become entangled with the pleasures of this world, compromising God's goodness, by sacrificing ourselves to idols. Thank God, he has an antidote to purge us from such a sin. He wants to help us, to revive and save us; so He calls us to, "Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy." He is turning our hearts towards Him and away from those things that will destroy us. We must heed the call so we can live. He went further to say, "I am the Lord your God." He is calling us back to the God who created all things out of nothing; the one who lovingly formed and made us; who provides and protects us. We must  respect, honour and exalt Him. He is calling us to holiness, because He is Holy. Let us choose to separate ourselves from the things of the world and live in total obedience to God. Be holy in your worship and in your conversation as we look to the Holiest of Holiness.

Have a wonderful day and a bless weekend 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
