'Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withhold good things from you' (Jeremiah 5:25).
God is a giver of good gifts and bestow upon His people bountiful blessings. The people of Judah transgress against the Lord and as a result of their iniquities have turned away the rain and the bountiful harvest God wanted them to have. God's beneficence has been restrained by their continuous sinning, and He wanted to bring them to a sense of their sins and an acknowledgment of them. Therefore, He withhold the blessings they should have gotten. We too through our rejection of God, or continuous sinning can obstruct God's access to us, so his beneficence does not reach us. We can provoke God when we become proud, thinking we can do without God, be dependent on self. We must fear God - reverence Him. He is the Almighty and Sovereign God. He sends rain, he provides crops for food. He sets boundaries for the vast sea and the waves tossed and roared yet they cannot pass over it. Yet God's people do not fear Him. We must submit ourselves to His authority and live! What if God decided to stop all rain in the entire universe? There is nothing we could do to stop Him from doing so and we would all perish. But we are truly bless and is thankful to have a merciful God, that still provides for our needs. We are sinful and undeserving of His blessings, but our kind and compassion Father still looks after His wayward children. We must understand, God does not want to withhold any good things from us, but when we disobey His commands and sin, the blessings are not as bountiful as it should be. If you do not want God to withhold good things from you, fear and obey Him. We should fear him! Reverence him! Refrain from sinning, not only against God but also against one another. Let us reflect on God's greatness, his Sovereignty, his benevolence, his mercy and love for us; as we seek to obey, fear and reverence Him. God's bountiful blessings will be more abundant to his people.
Have a wonderful day🌹🌹
Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...
