'And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul' (Deuteronomy 10:12).

Moses reminded the Children of Israel that they were a peculiar people chosen by God to be a light and a witness to the Gentile nation. Because of unbelief, and rebellion towards God, He had allowed their fathers to all die in the wilderness, and now they are called to be totally committed to God. In his exhortation, Moses, admonishes them to fear the Lord; walk in His way; love and serve Him. The call for us to commit ourselves to the Lord, is still relevant today. We are called to total commitment to our Lord and Saviour; to have a deep reverence for His Holy name; a heart desirous of walking in His ways and to exercise total trust in His promises. So what does the Lord requires of us? 1) To fear the Lord thy God.  It doesn't mean we must be afraid of God, but to stand in awe of Him - to reverence Him. The Bible says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 1 7). When we fear the Lord, we will abhor evil, pride and arrogance will not be practiced.  2) To walk in all his ways. We go when He commands us to go and take the way He has prepared. We will be obedient to Him and do His will; walking in the way of His peace, His truth, the way of love and righteousness. 3) Love Him with our heart and soul. We should love God in return for His love. We ought to have confidence in Him as our Father. Our love for Him should come from our heart;  loving Him with our whole heart and soul and mind, which then allow us to love others. 4) To serve the Lord our God. In serving, we adore, we pray, we worship Him. We serve Him with our will and understanding. We serve Him with our heart and soul because He is our God and He requires this of us. Let us reflect on what the Lord has require of us and seek to fulfill them.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
