'I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31).
Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but was willing to lay it down for Christ and the Gospel sake because he believed in the resurrection of Christ - of the dead. We have to rejoice and give thanks that Christ was raised from the dead. One day He will return for His people who believed in Him; who died in Him and will be resurrected to new life. Glory to God! Like Paul, we who accepted Christ must be willing to lay down our lives for Christ and the Gospel sake. We must through the power of the Holy Spirit be ready to take up our cross and follow Jesus daily, as we die to self. We must rejoice to suffer, or die for the cause of Christ as we live for Him. We must seek to examine ourselves each day, to see whether we be in the faith, to come at the foot of the cross daily laying all before Christ and be in a place where we are not ashame to die for Him. Let us understand that we must die while we live, so that we may live when we die. Let us keep rejoicing in Christ until He returns.
Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹
'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and
