'The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth His trust in the Lord shall be safe' (Proverbs 29:25)

When we seek to put our trust in others it beings pain, disappointment, problems, confusion and despair; but in Christ we have a safety net. The pressures of life makes us fearful; our circumstances tend to increase our fears and decrease our faith in God. When we allow such fear to control us we find ourselves doing the wrong things, committing some evil acts not pleasing to God and they become a snare for us. However, when we choose to trust in the Lord we are safe and secure. The Word of God gives us encouragement and reassurance of what it means to trust God, the One who is able to deliver us when we trust in His Son, Jesus Christ. Our fears are dispelled when we stand firm on the promises of God by faith. 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.'  When we fear God - reverence Him, it brings wisdom and strength; hope and joy; trust and confidence that allows us to exalt the name of Jesus. Our fear of man may be as a result of us losing the  favour and friendship of others or the honour and applause from them; it could be a fear of others wrath or persecution or sufferings by them. Whatever that fear is, we are told it brings a snare. But putting our trust in Lord, the God of all grace and mercy, will snatch us from the snares of the enemy and bring deliverance. Let us trust God whatever the cost, that we may be safe. Jesus our Saviour trusted  in the Father, yet He was crucified; Paul trusted in the Lord and was beheaded; Peter trusted in the Lord and was crucified upside down, by choice; Joseph trusted in God and was put into prison and the many others who who suffered because of trust in God. In all their trust there is safety. I implore you, not to fear those who can kill your body but are not able to kill your soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both body and soul. Trusting God we are assured of His love and conscious of His presence, that He is near us. Let us choose today to put our trust in God and not man.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
