'By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments'
(1John 5:2).

Jesus said if we love him we ought to keep His commandments.  A willingness to obey His Word is one of the test of our love for God. In the Garden of Eden, it was not so much the fact that Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit from the tree of life that was the issue, but it was God's test of obedience forbidding them to do so. They completely failed the test. Christ demonstrates His love for the Father by His obedience to Him and  calls us to do the same. Our willing obedience to do His will and a genuine love for our brothers and sisters in Christ, is the test of our love of God. Jesus loved us and gave His life for us; and if we walk in the way of God's love and live a life filled with His love, we would be doing the will of God. We must realise that we cannot do this of ourselves without the power of the Holy Spirit within us. We have to humbly submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit so we can love others as Christ loved us. By virtue of our rebirth we are set within the family of God and as we love God the Father, so must we love the children who are of the same family. We cannot love God without loving our brothers and sisters in Christ; both are inseparable. We can know we love God, as well as other believers, if we are obeying him. We should not try to love others in our own strength because we will fail and become frustrated.  The only way to love like Jesus loved others is by relying on the same power source, the Holy Spirit. Let us continue loving one another with self-less love by our reliance on the Holy Spirit.

Have a wonderful day and a bless weekend 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
