'Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law;  yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart' (Psalm 119:34).

God's desire is to save all of us. He gave His commandments, His precepts and laws that we may know Him and understand His work; for us to seek and observe them in our walk with Him. He has given us many promises to meet our every need; in times of challenges and difficulties we can claim them. As we recognise our needs we may come and lay it all at Jesus' feet. God's promises are sure and we can be confident that He will do what He says. He invites us to come to Him and ask, and promises to hear and answer. In the passage we see the Psalmist asking God to give him understanding. It isn't just a general understanding to know; but spiritual understanding to discern what is right, so as not go contrary to God's Word. He is also asking God to help him to keep His law and to give him the desire to obey Him with all his heart. That's such a powerful prayer! He wishes to understand everything that He needs to know about God, from beginning to end. We too need to attain this spirit understanding to distinguish when we are going contrary to God and his law. We need to study God's Word diligently and meditate upon it, so we can fully understand and obey Him with all our heart. We cannot do it of ourselves, so we need the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to help us. Let us pray to understand more of what God wants of us; to learn to fix our heart upon Him through Jesus Christ; to pursue wisdom as we seek Him through His Word. Let us seek to understand the Gospel, of Christ and the things of Christ, as we do the will of God from the heart. As we allow the Holy Spirit to be our teacher, let us pray for spiritual understanding and a teachable spirit. The more we understand, the more obedient we will want to be, and be able to be.

Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
