'Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost her savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and be trodden under foot of men' (Matthew 5:13).

Jesus used the metaphor of describing his people as the salt of the earth. He didn't say "we shall be the salt of the earth" but the "Ye are the salt of the earth" It is right now at this moment that we should make a difference in people's life.  In the ancient world salt was extremely important and was seen as a requirement for life. It was also used mostly for preservatives, as it is also used in the modern world. It was only fitting then for Jesus to used this metaphor to help the disciples understand their duty in preserving  the purity of the world. The same message He spoke is also for us today. Christ has called us individually and collectively - as a church, to be the salt of the earth.  We must demonstrate a life in Christ by our lifestyle and by our seasoned conversation. We should never lose faith in God and His Work. We must have the zeal in the preaching of His Word; utilising the gifts He has given us to be a witness to others; to embrace them in love, honesty and truth. When we cease to do these things we have lost the savour and have become good for nothing. We have to recognise that salt on its own has little influence, but once mixed, in the right proportion in food, is of a great value. When it is cooked in our food, it transforms the food. So it is, as Christian we have to rub shoulders with each other; mingling with both  Christians and non-  Christians  alike, that we can have the opportunity to bring a Christ-like flavour to their lives. However, we should  be mindful not to allow them to impact a secular flavour in our lives. We have a responsibility to transform the environment we find ourselves in, just as the salt transforms food; and as a few grains of salt make a difference in the food, even a few faithful Christians can make a difference in the world. Jesus is warning us not to be complacent in our quest for the souls of men or to act foolishly in our spiritual zest and zeal for God. In so doing we may become worthless or good for nothing, losing our spiritual value and be cast out and trodden under the foot of men.

Have a wonderful day🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
