'Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously' (Psalm 119:29).

When we know God and have an intimate relationship with Jesus, we will abhor sin in every form. Even though we know and accept the law of God, or may be teachers of it, we have to be careful not to fall in the traps of Satan.  We must be mindful that we are subject to a number of wicked thoughts and imaginations that can lead us away from the right path; except we allow God to take hold of us with His mighty hands. We must be reminded that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers and against Spiritual wickedness in high places. We need constantly to pray to God for deliverance, to keep us from deceit, from pride and from anything of this world that will seek to lead us away from our heavenly Father.  We should not be complacent and think for one second that because we are saved by God's grace, that the Devil can win no more with us. We would be deluded as that would be dangerous thinking. David wanted not only to be kept from the way of sin, but also to have it kept from him. He did something about it! He cried out to the only one he knew could save him - God; to remove from him the way of lying; of folly; self-righteousness; hypocrisy; error. What about you and me? David desired to have the law of God opened up to his understanding, engraved in his heart. He seek the Lord and plead for it to be graciously granted unto him. We need to desire and ask God to grant us graciously the understanding of His law and for the Holy Spirit to keep His laws in our hearts, that we may not sin against him. Pride is the greatest of lies that started in heaven with Satan, the father of all lies. He is a manipulator and the deceiver of this world. Like David, let us cry out against such sin and ask God to guide us, through His Holy Spirit; to guard the avenues of our hearts that we may forsake the way of lying and to seek to be sincere and truthful.

Have wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
