'For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee' (Psalm 86:5).

Some people are considered good by the standards of the world. They are seen as good because of their hospitality and seemly good moral standards.
However, as sinful beings we are not inherently good, it is only God who is good. It is only through our relationship with Christ that we can be truly seen as good. He supplies us with His good and remove our evil. The nature of the heart is evil and desperately wicked. Some people are considered good, yet they cannot forgive the injuries done to them by others. But when we are made good in Christ, we will be willing to forgive others as God through Christ has forgiven us. The Lord is plenteous in mercy unto all who call upon him. Notice He didn't say some, but all who call upon him! When we lift up the name of the Lord in prayer and worship, His goodness flows through us as a stream running by. The Lord is always ready to forgive. The Scripture says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). There is forgiveness in the Lord, which he had made provision for and give it freely to all who ask. The Lord is good in himself and good to others and that's why every good and perfect gift comes from him. The Lord will show himself merciful when we call upon him, because He is rich and abundant in mercy; He abounds in his grace and goodness. When we petition the throne of grace, with faith and hope, we can take hold of it. Let us call upon God with an upright heart because if we regard iniquity in our hearts, God will not hear us
(Psalm 66.18).  Be encouraged and with confidence, take hold of God's goodness and mercy as we seek to obey and look to Him by faith.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
