'And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God' (Jeremiah 30:22).

Israel had backslided and followed after other gods throughout the history of their nation, but God has never given up on them. When they disobeyed and rejected Him, he chastened and punished them and allow them so many times to be captives of the heathen nations around. But our God is a loving, merciful, and longsuffering God; and when His people cried out to him, he heard and responded to their cries - their fears and tremblings. When they feared and worshipped God and returned to him, he restored and bring healing to them and grant them peace. As spiritual Israel we tend to fall in the footsteps of Israel in many ways. We turn our backs on God; disobey his commands and commit idolatry. When we do these things that displeases God, he will allow afflictions, pain, sufferings, tribulations and distress to come upon us. However, as He did to Israel of old, he will  do for us when we turn from worshipping idols; worldly pleasures and evil surmising and turn to him and obey and do his will. He will restore us to Himself and heal us through His Son, Jesus Christ. He will manifest his love to us, grant us his favour and take us under his care and protection. Our gracious God, wants to dwell in us, those who bear his name and to give us that peace we so need. We see how loyal and protective God is over his children. Whenever Israel sinned against God, he sometimes used other nations as a rod to chasten them, but will not allow these nations to crush them, and will avenge all wrongs that they have suffered by the hands of these nations. Such wonderful love! He would use these nations as his tool to get the work done, but then He would break these nations and sometimes destroy them, because of the way they treated Israel. God will correct us when we deserve to be chastened and punish us when we disobey him. It will be in measure because His aim is to save us and not for us to perish. We ought to thank God and be grateful, that even amidst our sinfulness and waywardness, he is still merciful. We have One who has the authority to approach the throne of God on our behalf, and his name is Jesus Christ.  He is one of us, through his humanity and is worthy to appear before the Father on our behalf, as our Judge and High Priest, and who pleads his blood shed for us on the Cross. We can rejoice because our King and High Priest has brought us back into a close and  deep relationship with God and we shall be his people and he will be our God.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and

'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you' (John 14:18). Jesus is awesome and full of compassion. He loved his disciples and wanted them to understand about His death and resurrection; that He would be going away for a while. He knew they would be confused and devastated, so he hastened to comfort them. He said, 'Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me...I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also' (John 14:1-3). He also promised another Comforter, that he can abide with them forever. What a merciful and loving Saviour! He went further to say he would not leave them comfortless; but will come to them. He was like a father to them, as He and the Father are one. Therefore, He promised not to leave them fatherless, or as an orphan. But will come to them. Speaking of His death and resurrection He said that in a little while the world would not see him no more

'Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still' (Psalm 4:4). God knows everything about us, because he is God, our Creator and there is nothing that can be hidden from him. He knows the heart and the intents of the heart; Our thoughts, emotions, desires and motives, whether they be good or evil. He knows the godly from the ungodly, and have set apart those who are godly for himself, and will hear when they call unto him (verse 3). We are all called to be in a right relationship with God. Those who accept this call should have daily communion with Him through the study of His Word, prayer and supplications, allowing the Holy Spirit access in their hearts, that they might not wilfully sin against Him. We need to search our hearts daily and be silent before God as we contemplate his grace and his mercy towards us, and He will reveal Himself to us. When our enemies seek to do us harm, or people speak lies about us, simply look to Jesus and trus
