'By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil'
(Proverbs 16:6).

The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Sin is callous, evil and destructive, it robs us of our joy and peace; it separates us from God and causes us to be fearful. It cost God his Son, whom he gave up to die on the cross for us. We were all dead in sin, but the incarnate Son of God, Jesus Christ, gave us the blessed hope of eternal life. We therefore, need to seek Christ and His righteousness and turn away from our sins and iniquities; showing mercy unto others as Christ grants us his mercy and grace. Let mercy and truth purify your life. When you seek and practice them it will motivate you to fear the Lord and will then lead you to forsake your sins and depart from evil. God is merciful to us, even though we don't deserve his mercy, and we should be to others. God's truth is a precious jewel that is reveal through His Word, with all sincerity and without pretence or deceit. Mercy and truth to a wise man motives him to fear the Lord and departs from evil. For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge and the foundation for living a godly life. It is by the mercy and truth of God we are pardoned from our iniquities. God send Christ to be the propitiation for sin, and in His truth fulfilled his promises concerning Him. It is Christ who atone for sin and made an end to it, when he died on the cross. It is through the mercy and grace of God that we are not consumed and by the fear of the Lord we are able to abstain from evil and any appearance of it. We need mercy to do away with the guilt of sin, as it frees us from its penalty. We also need God's standard of truth and righteousness, lest we sin, to free us from the power of sin. Let us keep our minds fixed on Jesus our Saviour and revere in our minds a holy dread and reverence of God, that we might depart from evil and not sin against God.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
