'If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye, for the Spirit of glory and of God rested upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified'
(1 Peter 4:14).

Bearing the name of Jesus should be seen as a wonderful privilege to those who believe in Him. It is indeed a blessing when you're being insulted or reproached for being a Christian, because the glorious Spirit of God will rest upon you. Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world was cruelly mistreated. He was beaten, spat upon, pierced with a  sword in his side and hung shamefully on a cross, by those He came to save. Being insulted or even suffering for His name, is nothing in comparison to what Christ went through for us. So whatever circumstances we find ourselves, be thankful. Deem it a privilege to be treated as Christ was treated by the world. If the Son of God who came to save us, was treated so cruelly, why not us sinners, who call upon His name? Being able to  suffer for Christ will help us to focus on who we really are in Him. "He that loves his life shall lose it; but he that hate his  life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal" (John 12:15). We should not let the things of this world influence our lives, but the things that are of God. The things of God are foolishness to the world, therefore let God be in control of our lives. Losing our lives for Christ's sake is worth it; we will enjoy eternity with him. We should rejoice to be partakers in Christ's sufferings and humiliation. It is a blessing to all who suffers on His behalf as  the Spirit of glory rest on them. Even though His persecutors spoke evil of him, he was glorified by the Father for those who suffered for him. Let us deem it a privilege to suffer and be reproached for the name of Christ, that the Spirit of glory and of God may rest upon us. Let us continue to look to Jesus, so that we may not be blinded by the foolishness of the world.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
