'For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life , is not of the Father,, but of the world ' (1 John 2:16).

We are living in the end-time where some people of God are denying their faith and embracing their own works .They have been blinded by the things of this world and have cultivated a love for material things: love of money, their education and success, their wealth and status, you name it. Nothing is wrong with having achieved all these things. The problem occurs when we put them before God. Christ is saying, "Lay not up for your treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves break in and steal." Let not the material things of this world absorb your mind in such a way that it diminishes your love for God and your ability to point others to Jesus. This world has nothing to offer us in our walk with the Lord. All that it has to offer is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life which is clearly not of God . The world is temporary as are the things and desires of it. It will one day passed away and  so will the lustful desires. It behoves us to resist the devil and the  evil desires of the world and follow Jesus, because he that doeth the will of the Father abides for ever. Let us ever trust the living God and desire to do his will, as we allow the Holy Spirit to purify our thoughts. Let us love, live and act Jesus  who is our best example. In the Garden of Eden, we saw these worldly desires played out in the Eve as she was tempted by Satan to eat the fruit God told her not to eat. The 'lusts of the eye' takes in  all the things we see with our eyes that may entice us to sin. The 'lust of the flesh is a desire for self-gratification- the real craving of the heart. The 'pride of life' desire us to think we have elevated to the heights of what we want to achieve, even if it means disregarding the will of God. Let us be obedient to God as we hide his Word in our hearts so we might not sin against him. We need to live and breathe the word of God and make him first and last in our lives.

Have a wonderful day🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
