'Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution'
(2 Timothy 3:12).

Christ Jesus, came to this earth to save us and through out his life he was without sin. He was tempted on all points like us but did not sin. His secret for not sinning was that he listened and was very obedient to the will of the Father. He looked to the Father and chose to follow His ways.  As a child He was taught the Scriptures by his mother which testified of himself and he also lived humbly working as a carpenter with his father, Joseph. Jesus also knew his purpose from a young age and used it to his advantage in doing the will of God. Throughout his ministry he was ever connected to his Father as he taught, preached and bring healing and comfort to others. He was afflicted, persecuted, scourged, beaten, spat on, and crucified as the Son of God for our salvation. As believers we should follow the footsteps of Christ and live a life pleasing to God. We must know how to live in this world of sin and know our purpose in this life. Our aim is to live a godly life in Christ regardless of what that may entails. Christ bore our sins on the cross and we are admonished to deny self and take up our own cross and follow him. He will strengthen and uphold us with his right hand as the Holy Spirit comforts and leads us in the right path, every step of our journey. Paul suffered persecution, affliction and suffering; but throughout it all he trusted in Christ and the living Word of God. He had faith, patience, longsuffering and love for his Saviour and his fellow  men. He charged Timothy, his son in the Lord, to remain faithful in all he had been taught and to trust the Word of God as was taught to him. We too are to be reminded of the work we are called to do, and with faith and obedience carry it out with much urgency to a world in darkness. Our faithfulness to Christ and his work, will lead us to persecution from those who oppose God. We see Christ's apostles and many of God's people in the early church experienced persecution as a result of living a godly life in Christ. We too must realise that we are not exempted from persecution if we are in Christ Jesus and preached the gospel of salvation. But with the leading of the Holy Spirit and the victory of Jesus over death and hell, we will overcome. Right now the devil is like a roaring lion seeking to devour God's people because he knows he has but a short time. His fiery darts are been hurled on us from every direction, to kill us; but let us through the Holy Spirit persevere in our trials and sufferings and with maturity in our spiritual walk with Christ, consider it joy to encounter these trials for Christ's sake. Christ promised to give to us not only eternal life but to give us the crown of life.

Have a wonderful day🌹🌹

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and

'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you' (John 14:18). Jesus is awesome and full of compassion. He loved his disciples and wanted them to understand about His death and resurrection; that He would be going away for a while. He knew they would be confused and devastated, so he hastened to comfort them. He said, 'Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me...I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also' (John 14:1-3). He also promised another Comforter, that he can abide with them forever. What a merciful and loving Saviour! He went further to say he would not leave them comfortless; but will come to them. He was like a father to them, as He and the Father are one. Therefore, He promised not to leave them fatherless, or as an orphan. But will come to them. Speaking of His death and resurrection He said that in a little while the world would not see him no more

'Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still' (Psalm 4:4). God knows everything about us, because he is God, our Creator and there is nothing that can be hidden from him. He knows the heart and the intents of the heart; Our thoughts, emotions, desires and motives, whether they be good or evil. He knows the godly from the ungodly, and have set apart those who are godly for himself, and will hear when they call unto him (verse 3). We are all called to be in a right relationship with God. Those who accept this call should have daily communion with Him through the study of His Word, prayer and supplications, allowing the Holy Spirit access in their hearts, that they might not wilfully sin against Him. We need to search our hearts daily and be silent before God as we contemplate his grace and his mercy towards us, and He will reveal Himself to us. When our enemies seek to do us harm, or people speak lies about us, simply look to Jesus and trus
