'Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation'
(Psalm 62:1).
Waiting requires patience and hope in what we expect to happen. We all at some point in our lives experience waiting. Whether waiting on results from the doctor about our health; waiting for an answer from a job interview; waiting on a bus especially when we're already late. These sometimes bring on stress and anxiety instead of patience, as we anticipate the outcome. To wait upon the Lord means to linger silently in his presence, to wrap ourselves in total submission to him, as he wraps himself around us to give us total trust and confidence in him. When we wait upon the Lord our strength increase and is renewed, as we look to Him for assistance and salvation, confident that He will work everything out according to his will and purpose. In waiting upon the Lord, we should trust completely in him. Our mind should be at peace, and we should have a calmness of mind knowing all are in God's hand and we don't need to worry. We should have confidence in His goodness; his mercy; his wisdom and his power, as we commit all to him. In this life we are beset with difficulties and dangers from every side, people who also want to hurt and destroy us, such as what David was experiencing. But like David, we too need to have confidence in the Lord who is our Rock and our Salvation. We cannot look to anyone else except the Lord our God. Salvation is from him and it is He alone whom we must depend upon. We must learn to wait in quite confidence on the Lord amidst our difficulties, our disappointments and distresses. As our soul waits upon the Lord; believe, be patient, be obedient, be silent as we truly give ourselves to him. Wait for God in sincerity of heart; have faith in our Lord and hold steadfast to his love, because from him only cometh our salvation, in this life and for eternity.
Have a wonderful day🌹🌹
'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you' (John 14:18). Jesus is awesome and full of compassion. He loved his disciples and wanted them to understand about His death and resurrection; that He would be going away for a while. He knew they would be confused and devastated, so he hastened to comfort them. He said, 'Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me...I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also' (John 14:1-3). He also promised another Comforter, that he can abide with them forever. What a merciful and loving Saviour! He went further to say he would not leave them comfortless; but will come to them. He was like a father to them, as He and the Father are one. Therefore, He promised not to leave them fatherless, or as an orphan. But will come to them. Speaking of His death and resurrection He said that in a little while the world would not see him no more
