'He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit' (1 Thessalonians 4:8).

We need to know who God is, and in order to do so we have to spend quality time with Him. You may ask, "but how do I spend time with God?" Through His Word, having a prayer life and with the aide of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures teach us all things we need to know about God. But to truly know Him is to have a personal relationship with Him. As we spend time in His Word and communicate with him, praying and meditating upon His Word the Holy Spirit connects our prayers and our groanings to Jesus who will hear answer us. We have the living Word of God - his commandments and precepts to help us to live right. All those who seek to have a relationship with Him need to follow and keep all of His principles. We need to have the Spirit of Christ in order to belong to him.  As believers, when we cooperate with the Holy Spirit in the process of sanctification; walking in the Spirit, we will display the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Paul was imploring the Thessalonians to walk in the Spirit, to not be involved in sexual immorality, but look to God who had call them to holiness. Even though in their culture, sexual immorality was seen as normal. Paul warned them of the dangers of participating in those sins, now that they know the true and living God, who has call them to be holy. We too are in danger of such sins and through the Word of God has been encouraged to keep away from them. We are to heed the call of God to holiness as we accept Jesus Christ and learn to walk in the Spirit. If we reject God's instructions in his Word, or the sayings of his men servants regarding sexual sins; we are not rejecting man, but we are rejecting God himself, who has given us the Holy Spirit to help us live a Christlike life. Let us take heed of what the Word of God is saying to us and submit our will to God and behave in a way that is pleasing to Him.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
