'Let all things be done with charity'
 (1Corinthians 16:14).

Paul was giving the believers in Corinth some very practical admonitions  and encouragement, that they should be on guard and  stand firm in the faith; to be strong, but most importantly, they should do everything in love. Love plays a vital role in our lives and should be looked at in the context of God's love, because He is love and does everything in love. If God is love and does everything in love, it behoves us as his created beings to follow suit and do the same. Our thoughts, feelings and actions should be done in godly love towards God and towards each other. We are told in the Scriptures to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, all our soul and all our mind and to love our neighbours as we love ourselves. Without charity (love) we all fall short of God's command. Charity is patient and kind; its not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand it's own way; it's not irritable and keeps no records of being wronged; it's never gives up or loses faith; but it is hopeful and endures through every circumstance (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Everything we do is meaningless without love. If we are to grow in our christian faith and walk in the spirit of truth we have to practice the love of God - everything we do must be done in love; his self-sacrificing love. It is the Holy Spirit who calls us to live as Christ lived, and love as Christ loved. We cannot love in our own strength unless the Holy Spirit is working within us. When we abide in Christ and He in us, allowing the Holy Spirit to carry out his good work in and through us, we will learn and practice godly love. Let us strive to be like Christ and allow his love to saturate our minds and souls, as we die daily to self and walk in the spirit of truth.

Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
