'Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee'
(Deuteronomy 8:5).
King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 12:13 stated cleary that, the duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments. God is a loving Father, who provides, protects, comfort and strengthen us in our times of need. But He also disciplines His children for their own good. Just like a parent- child relationship where the parents will discipline their children because they love and want the best for them. So our heavenly Father, disciplines or chastens us, His children for our own good because He loves us. If we seek to listen and obey God's commandments by walking in his ways and fearing Him, then we will not be chastened. Right? God is admonishing us through His Son Jesus Christ, to consider in our heart, that is, to think carefully or meditate upon what He is saying to us. He wants us to know that Him chastening us comes from a place of love and not done in wrath; because as our Father, he only wants what is best for us. Whom the Lord loves He will chastens. We must never forget what God has done for us in the past, that amidst adversities we can walk with confidence in our daily lives. God wants to teach us obedience and show us how we can trust him, as He guides and provides for us. Let us with humility and a teachable spirit be guided into God's truth by feasting daily upon His Word as we allow the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts.
Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹
'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you' (John 14:18). Jesus is awesome and full of compassion. He loved his disciples and wanted them to understand about His death and resurrection; that He would be going away for a while. He knew they would be confused and devastated, so he hastened to comfort them. He said, 'Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me...I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also' (John 14:1-3). He also promised another Comforter, that he can abide with them forever. What a merciful and loving Saviour! He went further to say he would not leave them comfortless; but will come to them. He was like a father to them, as He and the Father are one. Therefore, He promised not to leave them fatherless, or as an orphan. But will come to them. Speaking of His death and resurrection He said that in a little while the world would not see him no more
