'Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken'
(Amos 5:14).

Even though our natural tendency, as sinners is to do evil, the Lord is always pleading with his people to refrain from doing evil and seek to do good. Because of the sin in us we cannot do this of our own strength. It is only through the grace of God through Christ that we can do good. As we seek our Saviour, Redeemer and our Good Shepherd who is good, we will endeavour to do good. We must seek the Spirit of God daily to transform our lives, and who can work good things in us and show us good things. We must seek the way of the Father through our faith in Christ as we seek the truth of His Word. We cannot seek good without putting away evil, as we cannot serve both God and mammon. We are admonished to choose good instead of evil that we may live, that's the only way God will be on our side. How we treat one another is very important to God. Israel did wickedness by cheating honest people, taking bribes that robbed the poor of injustice and was therefore, warned by the prophet to seek good and not evil, lest they die.  How are we treating one another? Those who are poor and destitute, the outcast of society and those who don't have a voice.  When we seek what is good or do good, God promises to be with us. He promises to be in our midst when He sees us striving after uprightness and doing good.  Let us in seeking to do good, turn to God in mercy and pardon - to dest sin in our lives, seek God's cleansing and fellowship with him. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and is to hate evil. Let us not play with evil or tolerate it, but seek good that we may live and that the Lord will be with us. God is seeking to change our heart; He wants a heart that is fill with love. Love towards good and not evil, love towards Him and love towards others. Will you open your hearts door to Him, today?

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
