'Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbeth' (Proverbs 24:17).

The nature of man is to sin and his heart is evil and desperately wicked. It's only through the grace of God that we are allowed to do good or be good. It is a natural thing for us to rejoice when our enemies fall and be happy when they stumble. However, when  the love of Christ is in our hearts, we will not only love our enemies but will also do good to them. Christ our Master Teacher, taught about loving our enemies (those who are at enmity with his people) and to pray for those who persecuted us (Matthew 5:44). The carnal mind will emphatically says 'No' but the Christ in us will respond 'Yes!' There is a spiritual warfare going on inside us; that of good and evil, which is a constant battle and is as a result of sin. But the truth is, when we allow Christ to be our focus and seek to obey God, the Holy Spirit will help us to overcome evil and do good. The act of rejoicing when our enemies fall should not be sought after as private revenge, but should be seen as an opportunity to help them rise again. Neither should we secretly or publicly indulge with gladness in our heart when they stumble. Lest the Lord see our attitude towards our enemies and is displease with us and turn his wrath from them and pour it out on us, who should know better. We know the demised of the wicked and that God will not allow their deeds to go unpunished. While the righteous will overcome hardship and be saved from their enemies and into eternity. Therefore we need not gloat at the demise of the wicked or rejoice over their misfortunes, but be sympathetic towards them. We must also remember that we are not perfect and God knows that too. We too stumble and fall, but thank God we look to him and rise again. God doesn't condemn us when we stumbe and fall, but is patient with us and helps us to get up, by encouraging us to try again. Let us not then rejoice when our enemies fall or be happy when they stumble, but allow God who knows all things to deal with the situation.

Have a wonderful day and a bless weekend 🌹🌹

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live." Christ at this time, was able...

'For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise the Lord' (Psalm 117:2). The most important thing in life is having a relationship with God. It is through this relationship that we get to know our Maker and experience His love and His truth. When we recognised what God has truly done for us; of his great love and his faithfulness towards us; it should lead us to give Him praise and extol His holy name. God is kind to all his creatures and merciful to us as sinners, therefore, we know his merciful kindness is great towards us. In Christ, God has shown his mercy mixed with kindness, in giving up his Son to save us from our sins. For even though our sins be great, God's mercy is even greater than the sin. God's truth endures forever as his promises are sure. He is not slack concerning His promises to His people. He is trustworthy and faithful. The faithfulness and truth of God given in his promises never fails; nor does t...
