'How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? For ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?'
(Psalm 13 1).

When David wrote this psalm, he was going through a very difficult time and was in a state of perplexity. He felt overwhelmed and depressed and needed deliverance from God, so he cried out to God, "how long?" David was considered by God as a man after his own heart. He trusted and had confidence in God, but as human beings when the trials of life become so great, faith in God does not always bring easy answers and we at times become impatient.  David in despair, like any one of us express his frustration to God by questioning God. As believers, we go through hardships, trials and perplexities, and sometimes it seems as if the Lord has forgotten or forsaken us. Seeking deliverance we cry out to God in anguish of heart. Sometimes the situation seems like it will never end, and while we wait on God, we may become impatient and even cultivate a murmuring spirit. When one's soul is cast down within him, it seems like eternity, and his faith may wavered. However, God is patient and is never far from the cry of his children; He is an Omnipresent God. When people are in a state of depression, their mind get muddled and they sometimes do and say things out of character. When our mind is stayed on Jesus, he will give us that perfect peace. So, will God ever forget his children? No! The Scripture says, "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she shall not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they might forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palm of my hands; thy walls are continually before me" (Isaiah 49:15-17). Will God hide his face from us? Yes! He may hide his face for a moment, but He will never forget us. It is only in love that He will turn his face from us; but to his children it will be anguish, but it is only temporary, because we will see his face again in Christ. The Bible says, "For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee." Let us seek the Lord at all times and praise him continually; to lift up our hearts to him in times of despair. Remember, troubles and trials may tempt us to think God has abandon us and no longer cares. But the Lord will never forsake us, he loves and cares for us.

Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
