'Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things; which thou knowest not' (Jeremiah 33:3).

The Word the Lord gave to Jeremiah for the Children of Israel is relevant to us today. It is a message of hope in a time of despair. We are encouraged to call unto the Lord and he promised to answer and show us great and unsearchable things we do not know about. What a God! We do not deserve such favour, but our God is merciful, longsuffering and faithful. When we are obedient to the will of God great and mighty things happen, even in the midst of turmoil. We do not even have to fight our own battles, the Lord promises to do that for us. God's promises are sure and true. He will speak to us if we are willing to listen; as believers, He has given us His Word and His Holy Spirit so we are able to discern and keep his promises. No matter what turmoils and calamities that is around us, we can still find peace in God. Jeremiah was faithful to God and his calling as a prophet. He endured many hardships, including imprisonment, loneliness, rejection and subjection to grave ridicules; but through it all he trusted God and stood for him. When we stand for God, he will stand for and with us. In the middle of his prayer, God gave Jeremiah hope for Israel of the great and mighty things to come, that they did not know about - the promise of their restoration and of  better things to come, the Messiah. Jesus came  and fulfil the promise of salvation for all who believed in him and has gone back to heaven as our Mediator, High Priest and Judge. He is also preparing  a place for his people, that we shall be with him forever. Today, purpose in your heart to make your calling and election sure in Christ. Be thankful to God for all his promises in Christ Jesus,  for being a God who listens and hears the calls and cries of His children. God is faithful and true, so learn to trust him and call unto him with confidence. He will never fail us, so trust in the name of Lord and wait upon him. He will show us great and remarkable things we can't even imagine.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
