'Thus saith the Lord, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the Good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk therein'
(Jeremiah 6:16).

Israel's wantonness and disobedience led them to turn their hearts from the Lord. Jeremiah cry for repentance, went unheard and Israel paid the price for their backsliding ways. What about us today, are we heeding the call to repentance? Are we listening to the Lord as he speaks to us through his word, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit? We need to heed and hearken to the call of Jesus and consider our ways, lest destruction comes upon us. We need to stand at the crossroad and look; ask for the old path; ask where the good way is; walk in it and we will find rest for our souls. Let us examine ourselves to see if we are obeying the instructions given to us by God. Are we walking in the old path, standing on God's truth that leads us to the way of righteousness? Let us be faithful to our calling and seek to walk in the way of righteousness and peace, dying daily to self. Let us choose the 'old paths which is God's will for us, and not be like the people of God in Jeremiah's time, who refused to walk in God's way - "We will not walk therein." We must understand that God's way is of joy, peace, and rest in him. Let us with confidence choose to walk in God's way and receive the blessings He so want us to have. As you reflect on this passage of Scripture, what is God impressing upon your heart to do? Today I implore you to stand at the crossroad and look to God as you seek direction from him. Confess your sins as God impress it upon your heart. Ask God for the strength to do whatever He place upon your heart to do, and do it!

Have a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
