'Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight' (Proverbs 12:22).

Lying is a second nature to mankind. Eve was deceived by the lies of Satan, which led her to mistrust God. When a person practice lying it becomes a part of their daily life and diminishes trust between those they have done wrong. The Bible states that lying lips are an abomination to the  Lord. The Lord our God detests lying lips but he delights in those who are trustworthy. In Exodus 20:16 it states, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against our neighbour." When we lie we are rejecting the Lord's commandment. However, when we act with integrity and honesty, being faithful to God we bring delight to him. Let us refrain from lying so that our words ring truth and is trustworthy. Have you make a promise that you didn't keep? How did you feel about it? Have you thought about the other party and how they might have felt? Have you tried to discredit someone by lying about them? How did that make you feel; guilty or not affected at all? The nature of sin is to go against the principles and character of God. When we lie it is distasteful to God. We need to honour God and do His will, he will be please and delight in us. We must understand that we not only should speak the truth, but also be doers of the truth. We should faithfully performed what we have promised to do, instead of lying about our intentions. God is faithful  and hates those who are deceitful, but for those who are honest in their words and action, he loves and delight in. Let us learn to speak honestly to God and come to him with a true heart and be truthful without deceit when we interact with others. Lying is not a small thing to make light of, it is serious because God said it is an abomination to him. Lying lips are deceitful and dishonest, let us refrain from doing such actions as we seek to spend eternity with Jesus.

Have a wonderful day

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live." Christ at this time, was able...

'The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him' (Lamentations 3:25). For many people, waiting is not something we like to do. Waiting can bring about stress, anxiety, irritability and impatience at some points in our lives. It can also bring joy, peace, hope and happiness. We all encounter waiting in our different ways, whether its news of a new arrival in the family where there may be complications; news of a health condition; news of a love one pulling through an illness; news of a job promotion; and for believers waiting with hope and anticipation for the coming of Lord Jesus. Here Jeremiah is saying to Israel and to us that, "The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him." What is the benefit of waiting on the Lord? The Lord will renew our strength, he will not allow us to be weary or faint (Isaiah 40:31). He will be good to all who wait upon him. The Lord  will also be good to us when we search for him. W...
