'Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools' (Ecclesiastes 7: 9).

There are two types of anger; righteous and unrighteous anger. Righteous anger doesn't lead to sin, nor have to justify anything, but sets one under the control of God. On the other hand, unrighteous anger reveals a lack of self-control and ungodly attitudes towards one another, and even God. We have been warned by the preacher to not fly into an angry rage or harbour resentment towards God or man. There are serious consequences of harbouring anger in our hearts; without God in our lives, life becomes meaningless. This type of anger is not pleasing to God, and we must take  note and  learn that anger reside in the bosom of fools. Let us therefore, refrain from the spirit of unrighteous anger and learn to live godly lives, worshipping the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Sometimes in our lives, circumstances and trials happened and we feel frustrated and impatient and do and say things we  would later regret. Sometimes God is speaking to our hearts and we ignore that still small voice showing us the path to take. There is no mistaking that anger can be good and positive, but we need to use it at the right time, it's controlled and is directed towards the right end. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 14:17 that a quick tempered man acts foolishly and a man of wicked intentions is hated. Also in James 1:19- 20 says, "So then, my beloved brethen, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak,  slow to wrath; for the wrath of a man does not produce the righteousness of God." Sometimes it is  a person's pride or impatience that drive them to such anger.  Let us seek to have a life in Christ, and remember that God is the creator, not us,  and knows nust what he needs to accomplish in us. Will you allow Him today?

Have a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
