'Let all your things be done with charity' ( 1 Corinthians 16:14).

Love is of God and He is love! He first love us so we may be able to love him and each other. Paul is stating that love (charity) is very important  to our wellbeing, therefore we are to let all we do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 13 demonstrates how sincere our love for each other should be. Christ himself bids us to love each other as He loved us (John 15:12). We are also told to love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). A call to love is often seen as difficult, but it reminds us also how much God loves us. His love is incredible and amazing! And he wants us to experience that incredible and life changing love from Him and those around us. Let us as believers, seek to grow in our Christian faith and walk in spirit and truth, and live lives that will only honour God.   Paul was admonishing the Corinthians believers to do everything with charity. He is also speaking to all who fear God and believe in Jesus, to do likewise; to grow in grace and in a knowledge  of our Lord and Saviour.  It is the Holy Spirit who calls us to live as Christ lived and to love as Christ  loved. In our own strength we cannot accomplish this, but as we abide in Christ and He in us, we would learn the lessons of love. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to carry out His good work in and through us that we may become channel through which God's love can flow out to others.  Let us aim to be like Christ and do everything in love.

Have a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
