"Let us search and try our ways, and turn to the Lord' (Lamentations 3:40).

There is a way that is right and lead us onto salvation, and there is a way that leads to condemnation and death.
It is God's way that will lead us to life eternal, and our ways leads us only to death and everlasting damnation. Choose whom you'll serve, God or man! It is only right to search into our own heart and examine ourselves and our ways, by the Word of God and the standard of faith. Our ways are crooked and perversed, unholy, selfish and full of darkness and evil. But God's ways are plain, holy, selfless and full of light. Let us seek out Christ, having a knowledge of who He is and what he stands for; and to gain a full understanding of His grace, which is sufficient for us. Let us turn again to the Lord. Let us lift up our heart with hands unto God in the heavens (verse 41). Let us repent of our sins, and turn out of our sinful ways and heed the cry of the Almighty God, whom we have sinned against. God has promised that he is faithful and just to forgive and pardon us, all we need to do is turn to Him, with a broken and contrite heart. Sometimes we complain about anything and everything, instead of stopping for a moment to be grateful, and give God thanks for his faithfulness and care towards us. Jeremiah called upon Israel to turn again to the Lord. But first, he admonished them to examine themselves and their ways -  the path of self-deception and self-righteousness, that will only end in sorrow. Then He told them, "turn again to the Lord." That is, "get back on the right path, change your direction by repenting to the Lord your God." We too, are to heed that same message and examine our ways, turning afresh to the Lord. When we  recognise our sinfulness and spiritual pride, we too will repent and turn to God. Let us then lift our heart with our hands to the God of heaven, and truly worship him in spirit and in truth, so we can experience His renewal. The Lord is saying, today if you hear my voice, harden not your heart, but open it to receive me.

Have a wonderful day

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live." Christ at this time, was able...

'The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him' (Lamentations 3:25). For many people, waiting is not something we like to do. Waiting can bring about stress, anxiety, irritability and impatience at some points in our lives. It can also bring joy, peace, hope and happiness. We all encounter waiting in our different ways, whether its news of a new arrival in the family where there may be complications; news of a health condition; news of a love one pulling through an illness; news of a job promotion; and for believers waiting with hope and anticipation for the coming of Lord Jesus. Here Jeremiah is saying to Israel and to us that, "The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him." What is the benefit of waiting on the Lord? The Lord will renew our strength, he will not allow us to be weary or faint (Isaiah 40:31). He will be good to all who wait upon him. The Lord  will also be good to us when we search for him. W...
