'Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness' (Hebrews 3:8).

After God, through Moses delivered the Children of Israel from Egypt, they experienced the miraculous hand of God throughout their journey. However, that didn't stop them giving Moses a hard time or complaining and rebelling against God. They came to the border of the Promised Land and lost trust and confidence in the God who gave them deliverance from slavery in Egypt. As a result, it was only a remnant that was allowed to enter Canaan. As believers, we are edging towards our Promised Land where Christ will be with us for eternity. Therefore, we need to fully trust God and allow him to lead us, so we can experience the fulfilment of His promises. We must never lose sight of our spiritual inheritance which is promised in Christ. Let us hold steadfast to our faith, and not be tempted to lose sight of it, in the face of adversity and persecution; but to have confidence in our Saviour, Jesus Christ and to keep trusting God. The miracles in our lives, may seem to differ from those experienced by the Children of Israel; but if we mistrust and disbelieve God, the end result is the same -  death and losing out of the promise eternity with Christ. Let us learn to listen when God speaks; listen to his instruction, and pay attention to his teaching, keeping them in our hearts that we may not sin against Him. Let us learn from the mistakes of Israel and not harden our hearts, or rebel against God as our forefathers did. Instead Let us rejoice and give praise to the God of our salvation; be obedient and seek to live godly lives in Christ, that will fit us for heaven.

Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah' (Exodus 15:23). The Isralites were on a high after the Red Sea experience and their deliverance from slavery in Egypt and Pharaoh's army. The Lord led them this way become He wanted them to realise that He was their God, their Deliverer, and their Protector. The people  murmured against Moses and God, but the Lord showed them that He was still willing to guide and protect them and be their Healer, if they would look to Him. When they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters because they were bitter, so they murmured against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink" (verse 24)? Sometimes  things happened to us in life, and we become very bitter and callous. It may be family issues; a friendship gone sour; conflicts; marriage broken down; sickness or even the death of a love one. But we need to guard against bitterness cree...

'Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world;' (Titus 2:12). The grace of God brings salvation to all men, seeking a change in our conduct and attitude towards God and one another. It advocates a turning away from sin, and helps the believer in Christ to reject sinful desires and refrain from ungodly living. The grace of God teaches us to avoid behaviours that are sinful and will not enhance our lives; but it is to move us towards right behaviour and right thinking. Paul was instructing Titus to teach   boldly and with authority the conduct and behaviour God expects from His people. To encourage right thinking and behaviour by them living soberly, upright and godly lives. We are also encouraged as Believers in Christ to do the same. We must allow ourselves to be taught by the great Teacher, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we search the Scriptures daily an...
