'Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God' (Hosea 12:6).
Judah had backslidden and turned away from God, but was exhorted to return to the Lord their God, who would be merciful and gracious to them. They were to keep mercy and Judgment and to wait on their God continually. Even as believers, we too at times, find ourselves wandering from God. When we do wrong, or lack mercy to those in misery or the oppressed or the poor; and do not exercise justice, the Lord is not please with us and our gifts to him will not be acceptable. Therefore, we are admonished to turn to our God, and keep mercy and exercise justice. When we turned to God we are saved, because salvation through faith in Christ is the only way to heaven. Knowing Christ will lead us to follow Him. As we follow Him, we will show mercy to others, knowing that our God was merciful to us when we first came to Christ. We are also asked to keep judgment. That is, we need to evaluate a situation and make a right and fair decision about it, according to God's Word, His Spirit and His principles. Let us not be comformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
(Romans 12:2). We are to wait patiently and continually on the Lord our God, without doubting, in all occasions and conditions which may befall us, even in time of adversity. God is ready and willing to receive us, if we return to Him. Let us show kindness to all who need it, and exercise judgment, by being true and fair; not wrong others, but render to every one due diligence. Evaluate yourself, search your heart out, turn to God and worship him alone.
Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend
Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...
