'Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time' (1 Peter 5:6).

When we think of Jesus, who is also God, and yet when he came to earth, made himself of no reputation; but instead, took upon himself the form of a servant. He humbled himself unto death, even the death of the cross. And at the right time God the Father, elevated him to the highest position; giving Him a name that is above  every name.  Therefore, as Children of God we ought to humble ourselves and trust God to exalt us at the right time and place us as He sees fit. Being humble is not a weakness as the world sees it. It's about having a genuine appreciation of how we are, in our relationship to God. We must be willing to humble ourselves under the the hand of the Almighty God. And in due time He will exalt us, whether in this life or the life to come, or may be both, according to His will. Let us in humility cast our cares and anxieties upon God, who cares for us. In humility, let us wait and trust God to exalt us in His time. Humility is one of the fruit of the Spirit, and should be a goal we all as Christians aspire to attain. A spirit of humility is pleasing to he Father, and henceforth Christ himself was humbled in the power of the Holy Spirit, under the mighty hand of His Father. He was then lifted up in proper time at the Cross, then unto his Father's throne in heaven. We, as God's Children will grow in grace and in a knowledge of Christ, when we, like him, humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. And in the right time God will raise us up in newness of life. Let us ask the Lord to develop in us a humble heart, and a gracious spirit so we can not only have the mind of Christ, but that we may become more like Him.

Have a wonderful day

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world;' (Titus 2:12). The grace of God brings salvation to all men, seeking a change in our conduct and attitude towards God and one another. It advocates a turning away from sin, and helps the believer in Christ to reject sinful desires and refrain from ungodly living. The grace of God teaches us to avoid behaviours that are sinful and will not enhance our lives; but it is to move us towards right behaviour and right thinking. Paul was instructing Titus to teach   boldly and with authority the conduct and behaviour God expects from His people. To encourage right thinking and behaviour by them living soberly, upright and godly lives. We are also encouraged as Believers in Christ to do the same. We must allow ourselves to be taught by the great Teacher, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we search the Scriptures daily an...

'For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise the Lord' (Psalm 117:2). The most important thing in life is having a relationship with God. It is through this relationship that we get to know our Maker and experience His love and His truth. When we recognised what God has truly done for us; of his great love and his faithfulness towards us; it should lead us to give Him praise and extol His holy name. God is kind to all his creatures and merciful to us as sinners, therefore, we know his merciful kindness is great towards us. In Christ, God has shown his mercy mixed with kindness, in giving up his Son to save us from our sins. For even though our sins be great, God's mercy is even greater than the sin. God's truth endures forever as his promises are sure. He is not slack concerning His promises to His people. He is trustworthy and faithful. The faithfulness and truth of God given in his promises never fails; nor does t...
