'For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus  Christ' (1 Corinthians 3:11).

All who accept Christ as their personal Saviour from sin, are co-labourers under Christ. We are Builders, laying the foundations, which is Jesus Christ, as we preach the gospel and study the Word with others. No one else can be that sure foundation, but Christ our head  cornerstone, who binds the church as one. The Songwriter penned it like this, "The Church has one foundation, 'tis Jesus Christ her Lord; she is His new creation, by water and the word; From heaven He came and sought her, to be His holy bride; With His own blood He bought her, for her life He died." The good news of salvation starts and ends with faith in Jesus. If we add or take away from this gospel, we make it of non effect. Paul wants us to understand that our faith needs to be grounded in Jesus Christ, not in no other person. We see in the past where God's people focused their loyalty on religious leaders, instead of Christ, which ends in destruction  or with grave consequences. You would of thought, we too would learn from these instances. But now in the 21st century people are still putting their trust and focus in religious leaders, instead of the Almighty God. And it never ends well, or will not end well! There are many false teaching around in today's world, whose messages are not what the Bible actually teaches and many people are led astray, because they do not study the Word of God for themselves with the aid of the Holy Spirit, nor do they know Jesus Christ personally as their Saviour. But God will bring everything into judgement; and the works of these Christian leaders whom God has appointed to build up His church will be judged, to see if they have been building on the solid foundation of Christ. Let us study to show ourselves approved unto God and to keep our focus on Christ, the solid Rock, the foundation of our lives, rather than  man. Let us seek to be  partakers of the spiritual Rock of Christ. Remember our wisdom is futile and worthless without Christ. We need the wisdom of God from above, as we co-labour with Christ.

Have a a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
