'Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead' (1 Peter 4:5).
There are many who live their lives in sinful pleasures, as if there is no God. In so doing they choose to be separated from the One who created them. It was so in Peter's time and the same in our time. But one day, they will have to face God, who is ever patient; and will have to give an account to the One who is ready to judge everyone, both the living and the dead. As believers, we ought to live for and in Christ. Many have suffered for Christ and many are ready to suffer for Him. We, before our acceptance of Christ, once seek the sinful pleasures of this world, and was separated from God. But having now given our hearts to the Lord, we are no longer a slave to sin, and should resist the urge to be like the world, as we allow the Holy Spirit to transform us and give us the mind of Christ. This might mean, us suffering abuse or even persecution for following Christ and seeking to fulfil God's purpose for our lives on earth. Through it all, we must learn to trust in Jesus our Saviour and depend upon God our Father, whilst continuing to love each other, and serve each other, with the Holy Spirit as our guide and transformer. Let us seek as believers, to take on Christ's attitude towards suffering and expect this suffering to be part of the Christian's life. We must also keep doing good as we trust in the Lord and allow the Lord to refine and strengthen our faith, as we rejoice to share in the sufferings of Christ our Lord. Let us continue to be fervent in our prayers and give thanks always, as we seek the Lord's favour and judgment to come.
Have a wonderful day
Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...
