'And the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them' (Galatian 3:12).

On our Christian journey, we will have people trying to deter us from the path of righteousness. There are those who will try to lead us away from God's truth, and bring doubts in our minds.
We see the Christians in Galatia who had such problem. They were been pressured by the Judaisers that they need both Christ and the law to be saved. These were very convincing arguments put forward by these Judaisers, which led the Galatians to doubt they have been saved by God's grace through faith in Christ alone.
As Christians, we have to know the Word of God for ourselves and be in a right relationship with God, and be led by the power of the Holy Spirit to know truth and eliminate errors that may arise.
When certain doctrines are preached that are not  truth from the Scriptures, we should tackle it head on, like Paul with the Galatians. Paul showed from the Old Testament Scriptures that the righteous shall live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4). He also adds that the law is not of faith, but is of works. Those who live under the law must do them and live (Leviticus 18:5). In other words, if we live under the law, we must do what it says.
We must live by faith in Christ to be saved, and become right with the Father. It is Christ we need, he is the One who died on the cross for us, and not the law; even though we still need the law to point us to the only One who is Perfect -  Christ.
He fulfilled the law on our behalf, that is, all who live by faith. Paul argued that, the Galatians had receives God's Spirit after believing in Jesus, before  they did any works of the law.
We too have believed by faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and accept what He did at the Cross for us, before the works of the law was manifested.
Paul further argued that, they received the blessings of God by faith and His curses by the Law. It was Christ who paid the ransom of that curse on the Cross for them as well as, us.
Paul also let them know that the God's covenant with Abraham was as a result of his faith. He believed God and was accounted righteous. We too who accept by faith and are descendants of Abraham have inherited the covenant promise, which cannot be revoked.
Let us truly test the Spirit of God, as the Scriptures says, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them"
 (Isaiah 8:20).
Let us understand that we are justified by grace through faith and not works of the law. The Law is not based on faith in God, but on good works which are impossible for us to do without Christ.
Let us continue to live our lives by grace through faith and rejoice in Christ finished work on our behalf. He is now in heaven as our High Priest and Judge. Only trust Him!

Have a wonderful day and a blessed weekend

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
