'And the work of righteousness shall be peace: and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever'
(Isaiah 32:17).

The Lord is good, merciful and of great kindness to his people, even when we messed up. He is also a God of justice and truth; and  when we refused to obey Him and do our thing, then we have to face the consequences that follows our foolhardiness. Israel went into apostasy, time and time again, turning their backs on the true and living God. Even though God mete out punishment on them for their apostasy, which led them into the Babylonian captivity; He in his mercy and grace promised to bring them back into a right relationship with Him. How beautiful is God's love towards His erring children, how merciful is our God!  We too have messed up so many times, but God's love and mercy seek to draw us back into a right relationship with himself. When we come to God, confessing our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us, cleanse us from all unrighteousness and grant us peace, justice and His own righteousness. Today we live in a world that is full of evil, and seems to be spiralling out of control. Men's hearts are cold and callous, the poor are oppressed, those who serve God has felt the hands of persecution, for doing right. But in the midst of these chaos, God is still in control and He promised his people the work of His righteousness - peace. He will pour out His precious peace in the hearts of all who comes to Him and walk in spirit and truth. It is only in Christ that we can have perfect peace, it cannot be of ourselves or from mortal man. Let us seek to live in harmony with God in an imperfect world with imperfect people, until the appearance of the Son of God to take us home. Let us as believers, keep trusting in God and through the power of His Holy Spirit, experience the work of Christ's righteousness. As a result, all who are in Christ will receive the benefits of His peace, in quietness and assurance for ever, as we look and cling Him the Lord of our righteousness. Let us purpose in our hearts to live right that we can rest in the quietness and assurance of Christ's righteousness.

Have a wonderful day

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14).  God is a God of peace and of such wants His Children to seek peace between themselves and others. We are also encouraged to pursue a life of holiness, which can only happen through having a relationship with God and being empowered by the influence of the Holy Spirit. As we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus, fixing the thoughts of our minds on Him, that His peace, like a river flows into our heart, and His holiness becomes a reality in our life as we consecrate it to Him. We are called to be holy in our thoughts, in words and our deeds; but cannot achieve it by our own efforts.  W e must be consecrated in body, soul, and mind, but not of our own strength. It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can pursue holiness and be at peace with each other. Without the Holy Spirit leading us to live a life of ho...
