'The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him'
(Lamentations 3:24).

Everyday we are alive, there is hope. When we make the Lord our portion, then can we hope in Him. God's lovingkindness, His compassion and faithfulness, gives us hope inspite of all that's happening around us.
We all need the Lord, because we are sinners in need of God's grace and mercy. Therefore, we must gratefully receive whatever God brings into our lives.
Jeremiah the prophet witnessed and mourned for the downfall of the city of Jerusalem and for the sinfulness of God's people. As a result, he was in deep anguish and pain. From the depths of his soul, he was able to proclaim that, "The Lord is my portion...therefore, I have hope in Him."
Despite the terrible circumstances through which we are going, we can choose to place our hope in, and trust in God.
As we look around the world today, we see corruption; abominable actions; cruelty; wickedness; sufferings; unbelief; injustice, you name it. Our hearts are also grieved as that of Jeremiah. And like him, we know in Whom we have believed, and that He is able to keep us, and everything we have committed to Him.
Through this vicious world of sin, we can still see the hand of God and know He is in full control. We can proclaim that the Lord is our portion - therefore, we can hope in Him.
He is indeed the portion of His people in life and death; in time and eternity. Therefore, we can safely hope in Him.
The Bible tells us that the Lord is good to those Whose hope is in Him, and seeks him (verse 25).
Let us wait quietly and patiently for the salvation of the Lord! He is worth waiting for.

Have a wonderful day

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live." Christ at this time, was able...

'For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise the Lord' (Psalm 117:2). The most important thing in life is having a relationship with God. It is through this relationship that we get to know our Maker and experience His love and His truth. When we recognised what God has truly done for us; of his great love and his faithfulness towards us; it should lead us to give Him praise and extol His holy name. God is kind to all his creatures and merciful to us as sinners, therefore, we know his merciful kindness is great towards us. In Christ, God has shown his mercy mixed with kindness, in giving up his Son to save us from our sins. For even though our sins be great, God's mercy is even greater than the sin. God's truth endures forever as his promises are sure. He is not slack concerning His promises to His people. He is trustworthy and faithful. The faithfulness and truth of God given in his promises never fails; nor does t...
