'Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the son of man' (Luke 21:36).

We are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, to pray without ceasing. This means we must pray often to God, our Father. The more you engage in prayer, the closer your soul will be drawn into a nearness to God. The Holy Spirit, will make intercession for the heart that is sincere with groanings which cannot be uttered, and your heart will be softened and subdued by the love of God. Jesus's message to us in Luke 21:36, is for us to watch ourselves, to be vigilant about our own spiritual state and be spiritual awake as we go through life. We need to 'take heed' to ourselves, constantly examining our walk and how we are seeking and imitating God. We need to seriously take stock of our conditions and responsibilities - don't let material concerns and self-indulgence distract us or we will find ourselves spiritually unprepared. We are admonished to pray always that we may be counted worthy to escape all that will come to pass, and to stand before the son of man. Christ is not just speaking here about prayer, but also about the frequency of our prayers.
How often are we in contact with God throughout our day? Do we give Him some time in the morning and evening, but the rest of the day He is in none, or very few, of our thoughts? Doing this places us in a very dangerous situation. In order to build your relationship with God, you need to converse daily with Him, and as often as you can throughout the day. The devil is constantly on our case every minute of every day to steal us away from God; so we need to be in constant prayer with sword in hand - the Word of God to escape the wiles of the devil. When we come to God, let us come submissively and with a contrite heart, subordinating everything to His sacred will. Jesus when He took the cup, it was bitter to his soul. It was the cup of separation from His father as a consequence of our sins; but He took it to save us. Let us therefore, humble ourselves before God and allow God's Spirit to work within so we can be counted worthy as we  stand before Him.

Have a wonderful day🌹🌹

Devotional 'The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' (Psalm 28:8). The Lord our God is the glory of our strength, and in His name we shall rejoice all the day. The Lord is our strength, and the saving strength of His anointed. It is through Christ our anointed that all our blessings come to us. Here we see David, who is a type of our Lord Jesus, praising God. What about you? Christ had done much for us and has achieved full salvation for us, therefore, praise Him! We, like Israel are encouraged that the Lord is our Strength and salvation. When we seek to be in a  relationship with God, He will protect us from our enemies and save us from the crutches of Satan. Just as how Satan attempts to destroy Christ many times, whilst he was on earth, God  saved him and will do the same for us. Christ died to save us all, but it is those who trust Him and have a saving relationship with him that will spend eternity with. He is our High Priest, and J...

'I protest by your rejoicing  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily' (1 Corinthians 15:31). Christ our Lord came and died for each and everyone to save us from the bondage of sin. He lived on this earth, ministered to the needs of all who He encountered; He was crucified, and resurrected and is now interceding for us, as our High Priest in Heaven. What if there was no resurrection? What would be the implications for God's people? The preaching of the gospel would be a lie, our faith would be worthless and we would all have remained in our sin. Paul is saying, there would be no cause to his dying daily, or for any one who believed and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour to die daily. Paul was expecting death at any time for Christ's sake. He was constantly in peril of his life, he encountered extreme sufferings and was beset with death. He was willing to die at anytime and in any way for Christ's sake. He did not count his life dear unto himself, but...

'The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing' (Zephaniah 3 17). What an amazing and wonderful God we serve, who is mighty to save. The Lord our God is with us and is mighty to save. He will take great delight in us and will quiet us with his love, and also rejoice over us with singing. We didn't have to do anything for God to love us, he did because he created us and we are His. He created us and loves us just as we are. Even when we did not deserve it, the Lord took delight in us. What an awesome God! He is present in the midst of us, loving and caring for us. He protects and defend us; died to save us from sin, so we can have life and have it more abundant. He is mighty to save us from fears; our enemies and the bondage of sin and death. We all need a Saviour, Christ the Lord, who is the cure for our problems and the antidote to sin. Christ has already won ...
