'But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works'  (Psalm 73:28).

In this world of sin there are many distractions. We lose sight of God and what He has done for us. We have to remove ourselves from some of these distractions and draw near to God. By doing so, it allows us to draw away from the worldly attractions and see the world in a new light through the lens of Jesus. We are sinners and by our nature we are far from God - being separated from Him; but thank God for Jesus, who bridged the gap when He died for our sins at Calvary. It is dangerous to be far from God, but even more dangerous to be afar off. God bid us to come near to him so He can save us, as we reap the benefits of being near to him. David said, "It is good for me to draw near to God." It should be the sentiment of our heart too. It will bring happiness to our souls when we draw near to God, knowing His presence is with us; His Holy Spirit draws us; supporting, comforting and strengthening our hearts. When we see and understand the works of God's hand, it should lead us to cleave to him; to be near him. Drawing near to God give us peace; we feel secure in him; we engaged ourselves in conversation with Him on a daily basis. We will trust Him because of our faith in who He is and give praise him as we declare all His works. We seek to draw near to God through our earnest and sincere prayers, being reverent and humble. Our prayer ensure success in our work with God. We also draw near to God by our study of His word, and through unity with Christ and  the Holy Spirit. Drawing near to God enables us to know him better, leading us to a better understanding with one another. Let us walk upon the path of our faith, as we surrender our hearts to God and submit our will to him, so Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith.

Have a wonderful day 🌹🌹

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). The Lord is our Provider and knows all that we are in need of before we even ask. We do not need to worry or fret ourselves about what we shall eat or drink. Our Father in heaven will take care of these things we need. We are told by Jesus, 'To seek first the kingdom of God.' What does that mean? It means we should lean on, and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ. We should repent of our sins and have a desire to turn away from it. We should seek to put God first in our praise to Him, in our worship of Him, to put our total trust in Him and to rely on Him  rather than ourselves or others. We need to seek Him first in our reassurance and acknowledging who He is and what He can do. We also need to seek God's righteousness by  loving our neighbors and feeding the poor and destitute, seek justice for the vulnerable. We should put God's plan and...

'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live;' (John 11:25). The story of Lazarus is a well known one in the Bible. He and his sisters Martha and Mary were friends of Jesus, who loved them. Lazarus became sick and died, and after four days Jesus raised him from the dead. This was more for benefits of those around including His disciples, so that they may truly believe that God had sent him.  He was speaking  with Martha who was more focused on the telling Jesus the problem, than demanding a specific solution. We too can be so focus on the problems we faced, that we forget that God is  much bigger that the problem and is our solution to them. When Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again, she understood it to mean he would live again someday. But Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live." Christ at this time, was able...

'For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise the Lord' (Psalm 117:2). The most important thing in life is having a relationship with God. It is through this relationship that we get to know our Maker and experience His love and His truth. When we recognised what God has truly done for us; of his great love and his faithfulness towards us; it should lead us to give Him praise and extol His holy name. God is kind to all his creatures and merciful to us as sinners, therefore, we know his merciful kindness is great towards us. In Christ, God has shown his mercy mixed with kindness, in giving up his Son to save us from our sins. For even though our sins be great, God's mercy is even greater than the sin. God's truth endures forever as his promises are sure. He is not slack concerning His promises to His people. He is trustworthy and faithful. The faithfulness and truth of God given in his promises never fails; nor does t...
